Our troop in Clear Lake
A place where young people can belong before they have it all figured out.
Troop 1513 brings together Scouts and families from the Clear Lake area of Houston. We make room for different personalities, different experience levels, and different ways of growing.
What it feels like here
Welcome comes before achievement
You can start new
No prior Scouting or outdoor experience is expected. There is always a first meeting, first campout, and first time asking for help.
You can be yourself
Some Scouts arrive ready to lead. Others prefer to watch, listen, and warm up gradually. Both have a place in the troop.
You will matter
Scouts contribute to the group, help teammates, and take on responsibilities that become more meaningful with experience.
Youth-led, adult-supported
Young people learn to lead by actually leading
Scouts help choose, plan, and carry out troop activities. They practice communicating, solving problems, and looking after the people around them.
Trained adults provide safety, coaching, and perspective. We stay close enough to support success while leaving enough room for Scouts to build genuine confidence.

There is no single “type” of Troop 1513 Scout
A young person does not need to be fearless, outgoing, athletic, experienced outdoors, or certain about joining. Curiosity is enough for a first visit.

There is time to look around, understand the rhythm, and build relationships naturally.
For the eager beginner
Enthusiasm has somewhere useful to go, with new skills and challenges always ahead.
For the growing leader
Responsibility expands with experience, creating real opportunities to guide and encourage others.

Meet us on a Monday
Troop 1513 meets Mondays, 7:00–8:30 p.m., at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 14045 Space Center Blvd, Houston, TX 77062.
Visitors can observe, meet Scouts and adults, and ask questions without an application or commitment.

Eagle is one path through the troop—not the only definition of growth. This public history records Scouts who completed that long path of leadership, service, and perseverance.
